Why I Create Podcasts

I didn't start out thinking about podcasts as engagement tools.
My background is in television and media production—documentaries, broadcast journalism, lifestyle programming. For over 15 years, I've been telling stories across different formats, learning what makes content truly connect with people.
But after several years, something shifted.
I started noticing an opportunity that most people weren't talking about: podcasts weren't just content to consume—they could be powerful tools for engagement and education, especially for organizations trying to genuinely connect with their communities.
Everyone talks about podcasts as broadcasting—another channel to push content out. But that misses what makes them powerful.
Podcasts are different because you have complete control with your feed. No algorithm deciding who sees your message. No platform gatekeepers filtering your reach. Just you and the people who choose to listen. And when they listen, they're not just consuming—they're engaging. Learning. Building community.
That realization changed everything for me.
I knew I wanted to work differently. Not just producing content, but partnering with purpose driven membership organizations like credit unions, labour unions, and professional associations, to help them use podcasts strategically. To actually connect with their members through real conversations and authentic stories.
What I love about this work? The people. The stories. Getting out into the community and helping organizations reach their audiences in ways that genuinely matter.
It's fun. It's meaningful. And honestly, every project teaches me something new.
I'm here to share what I'm learning, what's working, and hopefully help you think differently about how you connect with your members.
Let's explore this together.
